"But don't begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?" Luke 14:28

Yes, Brothas and Sistas it is that time of the year again and we have to be mindful that this is a wonderful celebration of recognizing the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Be careful that you and your boo do not get caught up in the commercialism of the holidays where you both are at odds with one another.

The Best Gift of All

"Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." I John 4:11

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

As the season for Christmas quickly approaches, I trust that we are expressing love toward one another. Eventhough Christmas is supposed to be a blessed time of the year it is also known to be the season when people tend to be very irritable and lack in showing love to their fellowman. I mean people truly forget what the true meaning of the holiday is about.

"I'll Be Home For Christmas"

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." Proverbs 22:6

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

As we approach this Christmas season my prayer for you is that you make sure that you take the lead in sharing the true meaning of Christmas. Take time to share the story of Christ's birth on Christmas day with your family before opening the gifts.

Tea Time with Tabby- Christmas What Gift Are We Giving this Christmas?

Good morning,

Sistas, I pray each of you have had a wonderful week. Today I'd like for us to take a look at how the wise men came to see the newborn King.
Matthew 2 :2-2 2 says, "After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi[a] from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

My  bible concordance says this about the verse above: "The wise men traveled thousands of miles to see the King of the Jews.

"The Gift of Encouragement" - continuation

GM Friends of God,

"Bless be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God." II Corinthians 1:3-4

Friends, do we use our power to encourage others? All of us as Christians can encourage, but many of us have the gift of encouragement. It is a unique priority of God.

Fueled By My Haters - Don't Take It Personal

Praise Dance

"For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God. But how is it to your credit if you receive a beating for doing wrong and endure it? But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin and no deceit was found in his mouth.

Words To Live By - "A Life Of Self Denial"

"If we do not die to ourselves, we cannot live to God, and he that does not live to God, is dead."
George MacDonald

Matt 16:24 "Then Jesus said unto His disciples 'If any man will come after me, he will deny his self and follow Me."

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Food for thought..............

Are we truly qualifying as good disciples of God? Or is it just talk and not having the characteristics that show we're Christians in the life we live.

Turn To Him

"If any of you lacks wisdom he should ask of God who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to you. But when you ask you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave on the sea tossed and blown by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double mined and unstable in all that they do." James 1:5-8

Good morning my Brothas and Sistas,

Today I want to share the process for us learning to how to discern what we need to do and what we should be doing concerning God's call on our lives.  I remember sometime back there was a bush in my backyard that would not grow at all and seemed to be in the way of me mowing the lawn.

"Before Saying I Do" Advice For Engaged Couples Part II

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money." Matthew 6:24

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

I would like to continue encouraging engaged couples. I just want to piggyback on what I discussed last week. I also want to express some concern about something that has bothered me for quite some time.

Tea time With Tabby The Lies That We Tell and The Truth We Find In God's Word Part II

Let's continue with Teatime,

........Sistas, I don't know about you but those are tall shoes to fill. Well that is the just another one of the Great things about our God. He never intended or expected us to earn what we received on Calvary that day. What He requires is that we seek out His will for our lives and discover the specific brews He has for each of us. We must remember that we are each commissioned to be disciples to those who don't know the Lord. What a better way to demonstrate the authenticity of our hearts and the Tea Times we can share with others than humbling ourselves and helping out another.

Encouraging Others

"If I can put one touch of rosy sunset into the life of any man or woman, I shall feel that I have worked with God." G.K. Chesterton

GM Friends of God,

I really love encouraging others and I'm sure some of you do as well but the greatest encouragement we will ever know is the giving of Jesus Christ to us, from His father. Through His death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus has written the word HOPE in all of our hearts. It is so wonderful to know that because He lives we to shall live.

Looking Beyond Regret

"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." Mark Twain

"There is still a son of Jonathan who is crippled in both feet.”...Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, came to David and fell on his face & prostrated himself..."What is your servant that you should regard a dead dog like me?”...Then the king called Saul’s servant Ziba and said to him, “All that belonged to Saul and to all his house I have given to your master’s grandson.

Poetic Pastries - Love Anyhow!

Love Anyhow.............

When you love someone well and they can't love you back Love Anyhow!

When you need encouragement from your family or friends and it's not given Love Anyhow!

When you take care of a sick loved one and they say you're not doing enough Love Anyhow!

When you give your last penny to help and are left with nothing Love Anyhow!

And when you feel like you just want to push all of those people away Love Anyhow!

Don't let anyone steal the joy of love from you!

Discerning The Voice of God

GM Friend's of God.

"I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart;  And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me." Habakkuk 2:1

Friends, are we anticipating God's voice speaking to us? Do we really believe that which is unbelievable? Do we pray, jump up and rush off, without allowing the Holy Spirit to speak? There are times we are all guilty of this.

We need to pray and ask God to heighten our spiritual senses so that we can hear the things that are not audible and see with our spiritual eyes that which is not visible.

God Pleaser or People Pleaser

“Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Galatians 1:10

"Wishing to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas for them, and after having Jesus scourged, he handed Him over to be crucified." Mark 15:15

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Saints, it is literally impossible to please God and seek His will without learning the fine art of saying, "No.

"Daughters, Know Your Worth"

"I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Marvelous are your works. Psalm 139:14

Good morning Kingdom Sons and Daughters,

This morning I want speak specifically to the King's Daughters,

Daughters, know your worth. Don't sell yourselves so short. Know whose you are and what you really are. As daughters of the King, you should never live by the opinion of man based on his own selfish motives of who he thinks you should belong to or what he thinks you are.

Before Saying "I Do" - Advice For Engaged Couples Part I

"Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, don't lean to your own understanding. In all if your ways acknowledge Him and he will direct your path." Proverbs 3:5, 6

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Whenever there are two individuals recognizing each other as potential marriage partners through friendship or dating, as with Michelle and I did, both parties need to discuss the big issues including faith, personal struggles, and challenges.

Teatime With Tabby - The Lies That We Tell and the Truth Found In God's Word Part I

Today's Brew is called Respect and Worth who shall I choose to seek this from?

Good Morning Sistas,

I hope and pray that each of you had a thankful Thanksgiving. God has laid some very important brews on my heart to share with each of you over the next several weeks.  Sistas, I don't know for certain that each of you have or currently are, or will ever drink from some of these false brews. No worries if you have or if you are right now, or if you do in the future drink form these brews.

"A  false prophet is known by two things; the fruit that they bear, and the gospel they preach. ~Paul Washer

Greetings friends of God,

''For if you wonder beyond the teaching of Christ, you will leave God behind; while If u are loyal to Christ 's teachings, you will have God too " (2 John 9, TLB ).

Friends, we are so living in the last days. God has warned us against false prophets and false teachers all the way through the bible.

Lift Someone So That You May Be Lifted - You Are A Lifeline

GM Brothas and Sistas,

The Lord impressed upon my heart a week ago to share this. Many of you have the gift of encouragement. I know I do. To be quite honest with you, if I was not encouraging people on a daily basis I do not know where I would be, what my life would be like or if I would be here.

I love encouraging people and when I don't do it I feel as though something is missing. Whenever I start feeling down the Lord prompts me to start encouraging others. Sometimes He will have me call someone or speak a word to uplift them.

Standing When All Hell Breaks Loose

"The devil is like a roaring lion, seeking whoever he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8

G M Brothas and Sistas,

Friends, I was at a women's conference, where the First Lady, my sister, was one of the speakers. We lost my dad a little while after she was asked to speak. She had been studying for a while and it was close to the time of the conference but she never gave up on her studying and preparing for the conference, even though she was having a hard time. Friends, her mind was made up.

Do You Love Them Enough to Hold Them Accountable?

http://youtu.be/V401SY_Gx2k

"Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted." Gal. 6:1

Good Morning Brothas and Sistas,

Is there someone you need to hold accountable? Accountability can be a very delicate issue to deal with. It must be Holy Spirit driven. When dealing with another persons faults/sin we must first take note of our own faults/sin. Then we must take ourselves (our flesh) out of the picture so that the Holy Spirit can lovingly convict the individual of their faults/sin through us.

Lessons Learned - Praise God For Your Judas's

"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Romans 8:28

"I'm not crying because of you; you're not worth it. I'm crying because my delusion of who you were was shattered by the truth of who you are." Steve Maraboli

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Sometimes it's hard to get beyond the hurt and betrayal of those we look upon as friends, especially when we have gone out of our way to help them when they were in need.

In Everything Give Thanks

Thank Him for your blessings.....

"And those who have reason to be thankful should continually sing praises to the Lord". James 5:13 NLT

Good morning Brothas ansd Sistas,

God's word makes it clear that a wise heart is a thankful heart. Our heavenly Father has blessed us beyond measure, and we owe Him everything, including our thanks. "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." I Thessalonians 5:18"

Tea Time with Tabby- "Called To Be Thankful"

Good Morning Sistas,

I am sure that many of you are busy and are trying to get all the things on your list checked off to make the perfect family Thanksgiving meal. Yet I am going to challenge you to add something to your already long list of must haves, and must do's. I want share a brew with you that I believe is relevant in these times especially considering what is going on in our backyards, across the country and across the oceans.

The Cost of Discipleship - Are We There Yet?

"If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple."  Luke 14:26

GM Friends of God,

I just recently heard a message preached on, "The Cost Of Discipleship." Friends, it was a great massage and food for thought. Luke 14:26 says, "If any man comes to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

He Has Been Faithful So Let's Be Faithful

"Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise : be thankful unto him and bless his holy name."  Psalms 100: 4

Praise the Lord, Brothas and Sistas,

As we give thanks for all He has done this Thanksgiving, let's give God all the praise and glory for what He has done the entire year. Let's praise Him for how He has kept us, protected us, provided for us and listened to every one of our prayers.

As I listened to the words of the song God spoke to my heart and I began to mediate on all of His goodness that He has graced me with and how He keeps me and protects me everyday from all the storms of life.

Where Lies Your Treasure?

"Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee." Psalm 119:11

Good Morning Saints,

Most people say we can easily trace a persons heart by taking notice of where their affections lie; where their heart is. Truth is, "where your treasure is there is where your heart will be also."The biblical word for “heart,” is described as the inner aspect of a man, made of three parts all together, with the primary part: 1) Mental Process, which is the major part (where action and reaction take place), which is to lead a person in their life.

Gods Agenda or Yours?

Good Morning Friends of God,

"The Sovereign Lord has spoken to me,and have listened. I do not rebel or turn away. ...Therefore I have set my face like a stone, determined to do his will. And I know that I will triumph." Isaiah 50:5,7

Friends, we will never be sensitive to the voice God if we have our own personal agenda to which we are already committed. When we choose not to listen to the voice of God we become self - sufficient and the result of self-sufficiency is torment.

Rolling With The Posse

Poetic Pastries- Rolling With The Posse

Sit down, take a seat and meditate a bit on this because what I'm about to say I don't want you to miss…
Listen closely as I tell you about the KOOLEST Man I know,
He has His posse with him everywhere He goes…
Now there are stories about Him both near and far,
Some true; some false depending on what they are…
Now John 9:5-7 tells about His healing of the blind,
Just imagining this really blows my mind…
Then John 8:6-7 teaches me how forgiving He is,

The Necessity of Prayer

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.." Ephesians 3:20

Good Morning,

Most of us have more hurts, habits, and hangups than we care to admit to. And most of us struggle with going to God in prayer because we don't feel worthy enough to enter into His presence. We disqualify ourselves when we let our past be the determining factor in whether or not we are worthy of receiving from God. This is religious tradition.

Slow To Wrath

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God” (James 1:19-20 KJV).

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

I was doing my devotional this morning and the topic was anger. It made me take inventory of how I currently handle anger. But it also made me think back on how I handled it as a parent. I’m gonna be honest, I didn’t handle it so great. I let my temper get the best of me.

Why Did I Get Married?

Slow Jam

Was it because of true love?
Was it because of the sex?
Was it for financial security?
Was it because of family pressure?
Was it because of pregnancy?

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Gods' idea of marriage is based on a covenant not a contract. You see the covenant is based on love and loyalty as we say in our vows "for as long as you both shall live." Lately, I have heard many spouses (male and female) talk about how dissatisfied they are in their marriages.

The Brew of Prayer

Our verse today is from Philippians 4:6 -7:  "Don't worry about anything instead pray about everything. Then you will experience God's peace , which exceeds anything you can understand. His Peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

Good Morning Sistas,

I hope and pray that you each are experiencing the great peace that comes from being in communion and walking with the Father.  I pray that each of you will be greatly blessed by our Tea Time together today.

The Paradigm Shift - Changing Our Way of Thinking

Good Morning Friends of God,

"Bless be the God and Father of  our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:  According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should  be holy and without blame before him in love.." (Ephesians 1:3-4)

Friends, is there a battle within you? let's Make it Personal: we each know what battle is within ourselves.

Genuine Love Restores

Gal 6.1"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself."

Good morning Sistas,

So many times when we allow our flesh rather than the word to be our compass we find ourselves in a place where we never intended to be.

Words To Live By - Sistas, Don't Lose Heart

"For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

"Count it all joy when you fall into different temptations." (James 1:2-6)

Good morning Friendss,

I know that things have not been easy in this life.

Inside Job

http://youtu.be/-pD2zIuiC2g

"Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is present, there is freedom." II Corinthians 3:17

Good Morning Brothas and Sistas,

True feedom can only be found in a relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ. In the Hebrew language the word for salvation is yesha. Its origin is from yasha. Yasha has this meaning: "to be wide, or roomy - a broad and spacious place." Yasha communicates the idea of freedom. It is "liberation from confinement, constriction, and limitation.

The Palm Tree

"The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon. Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God. They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing; To shew that the Lord is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him." Psalm 92:12-15

"By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down the tall cedars thereof,

Never Alone

" But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you." Isaiah 43:1-2

Good Morning Brothas and Sistas,

My heart is in the place of praise and worship this morning knowing that even in the midst of all of the pain and suffering, the hurt and the disappointment I suffered I wasn’t by myself!

Foreplay Beyond The Bedroom Conclusion

The Song of Songs, which is Solomon's.
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth!
For your love is better than wine;
your anointing oils are fragrant;
your name is oil poured out;
therefore virgins love you.
Draw me after you; let us run.
The king has brought me into his chambers.
Song of Solomon 1: 1- 4

Brothas and Sistas,

I don’t know what you guys think but the Song of Solomon is pretty HOT!! It’s the perfect view of an intimate relationship between a husband and wife.

Tea Time With Tabby "Discipleship Not Me! Really Yes You! Brew for the Day"

Matthew 28:18-20 Full Chapter

Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Good Morning and welcome to "Tea Time with Tabby"..............................

I have missed you for the past two weeks and my sincere apologies.

Never Alone - The Blessing of Friendship

Good Morning Friends of God,

"Many a man claims to have unfailing love, but a faithful man who can find?" Proverbs 20:6

Friends, I had to share this with you, because it's so true. This came from an old book I have entitled "Never Alone", Gods Word for Single Adults. In the books the author states, "Friends are not temporary help while you're waiting for a date. Friends are not a plan to fall back on when nothing better comes along. Friends deserve your loyalty and respect no matter what the dating prospects happen to be.

Do You Have Your Red Dress On?

Good Morning Friends of God,

I went to a conference sometime ago and there was a speaker there who was dressed in all red  and she was wearing it well. That Sista looked good!! But when she came forth she told us her topic which was, "I Have My Red Dress On." As she began to speak I realized that she was wearing it as a symbol which related to us being covered by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Friends, all of us needed to be covered by Jesus blood at some point in our lives.

The Great Exchange

The Great Exchange

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service and be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable & perfect, will of God." Romans 12:1, 2

Good Morning Brothas and Sistas,

Many times we are afraid of of committing ourselves to doing those things that He has asked us to do.

Are You Giving God Genuine Worship?

"Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:25 NIV

"To worship is to quicken the conscience by the holiness of God, to feed the mind with the truth of God, to purge the imagination by the beauty of God, to open the heart to the love of God, to devote the will to the purpose of God." William Temple

The Importance of Foreplay in Marital Intimacy Part I

We apologize for not continuing with our series. We were on vacation last week. It was Babe's birthday and our dear Sista was experiencing illness and the birth of her newest grandson last week. Please keep her health and her family in prayer. Lord willing they will continue the series next week.

The Parable of the Good Samaritan:

In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him.
