Tea Time With Tabby - Should We Love Ourselves As Christ Loves Us

Good Morning Sistas,

I hope everyone had a chance to clean out their Tea Cupboards and make room for some new and amazing Brews that God has designed for you and you alone.

Today I feel led to talk about some of the pressures that society places on us, woman in particularly, even more so some that we place on ourselves.  Are we to drink of the brew of self love or as I prefer to a call this brew a little something different, The Brew of Loving myself as Christ loves me?

What's Your Oil?

Elisha replied to her, "How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?" "Your servant has nothing there at all," she said, "except a small jar of olive oil."

Good Morning Saints,

It's amazing how our perspective of what we have within may not be as viable as another person's perspective. Those who are around us most often see what we don't see. Just as with the woman of Zarephath, not only did she not recognize what was already in her house, she minimized the anointing that was about to come forth from the oil that was already within her house; that which was already placed within her.

No Place For Jealousy In The Body

"Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another." Galatians 5:26
Good Morning,
Did you know that vain glory is at the root of jealousy among Christians. Jealousy is the common thread which can erode and eventually tear down Christian fellowship, bring churches to nought, do significant damage to the best relationships/friendship, and make siblings disassociate themselves with one another.

Moments of Reflection - Who Is Like Our God?

"The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods." Psalm 97:5-7 KJV

Good morning Sistas,
Sistas, He is the only one true and living God. We burn with undying passion like a candle whose wick never burns out in the presence of our God.

When The Going Gets Tough, The Tough Get Going

"Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil because you are with me; your rod and your staff they comfort me." Psalm 23:4

"Do not be lazy. Run each day's race with all your might, so that at the end you will receive the victory wreath from God. Keep on running even when you have had a fall. The victory wreath is won by him who does not stay down, but always gets up again, grasps the banner of faith and keeps on running in the assurance that Jesus is Victor.

Come Out of Lo-Debar

Read II Samuel 9:1-13

"And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?" II Samuel 9:1

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

One day while I was talking with a friend, he began to share some of the difficulties he was dealing with. While I was listening, I heard him mention some of the same problems over and over again. So I said to him,"Why don't you just start fresh with a new place.

"How To Say I Love You - Let Me Count The Ways"

Philippians 2:2"Complete my joy by beingof the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind."
Good morning to you both,
My Brothas and Sistas to say I love you to your spouse means more than just saying words. It requires action. In other words it requires doing and knowing.
Now you may be saying to yourselves, "What do they mean show your love by

The Brew of Depression

Good Morning Sistas!

I pray that since we last met and had a cup of God's Brew together you have found yourself sitting at the Father's side taking in all the glory, wonder and amazement that He has for each of us.

Today Sistas, I feel led to share of a brew that is so prevalent in our world today and that is a brew that can be found in my Tea Cupboard. It's not a harsh brew, actually it starts very calming and relaxing. It's as if your sitting, sipping and have that feeling of a rainy Sunday afternoon and everyone is settled in the house.

Our Friend, Jesus Part II - What Kind of Friend Am I To Jesus?

GM Friends of God,

I asked yesterday if we were Friends of God. I know we all love to think of Jesus as our friend but friendship is a two-way street. Friends, we all need to ask ourselves and let's make it personal for each of us....''What kind of friend am I to Jesus?"

If we are truly someone's friend, we are going to care for our relationship with them. We would also be mindful of things that could be hurtful or cause distance between us. Nothing caused Jesus more pain, Friends, than our sins when He was on the cross.

Our Friend, Jesus Part I

GM Friends of God,

"For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which is lost." Luke 19:10

Friends, how do we respond to Jesus calling us His friend? Personal question..... "Are we really His friends?" Jesus has so many names and titles. The one I like the best is the one the Pharisees gave Him which is, Friend of Sinners.

I believe it was one of His favorites too. Friends, that blows my mind! How about you? Jesus said that "He came to seek and save those who are lost.

Saints, Get Out of The Way

"For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?" Lk 14:28 "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach." James 1:5

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

There are times when we are moved by compassion to help those that are in need. There are some of us who enjoy helping others. God has given each one of us awesome task to edify those around us.

The Art of Being Patient With Others

"Please Be Patient With Me
Gods Not Through With Me Yet"

"But he knoweth the way that I take; When he hath tried me, I shall come forth as pure gold." Job 23:10

Good Morning Saints,
True freedom comes when you allow not only yourself to be who He created/destined you to be but when you allow others to be who God created/destined them to be. Many times our expectations of others are too high. When others are more in tune with pleasing us rather than pleasing God by being themselves it sets them up for failure.

Harken To His Voice

"The sacrifice God wants is a broken spirit. God you will not reject a heart that is broken and sorry for sin." Psalm 51:17 NCV

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Throughout the bible each man or woman God used had a heart that was responsive to hearing and obeying His voice. What I'm saying is we must be sensitive to His Spirit. I know sometimes we may think that it's our ability or talent that allows us to be used by Him, but Bothas and Sistas, that is not the case.

Whose Minding The Storehouse?
Old Skool

Now this is what the LORD Almighty says: “Give careful thought to your ways. You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it.” Haggai 1:5
Good morning Brothas and Sistas of the Most High,

I pray you had a wonderful week thus far and are living wholeheartedly for the Master today.

Tea Time With Tabby - What Brew Do You Choose When the Bottom Falls Out?

Good Morning Sistas,

What a great day to be alive; not just alive by human standards but knowing that you are "Alive In Christ!!" So let's everyone grab our Tea Cups and let the Lord fill them til they are pouring over with hope and faith especially when the bottom has from our perspective has fallen out.... Dear Sistas, I have to tell you this message today is as much a reminder for me as it may be a blessing to you.

Last week my tea cup went from overflowing with blessing and opportunity to serve the least of these to, "How am I going to pay the mortgage and the bills, keep the fridge stocked, and keep my husband's tea cup from shattering?

Reputation Made God's Style

"But made himself of no reputation & took upon him the form of a servant & was made in the likeness of men:..For it is God which worketh in you both to will & to do of his good pleasure." Ph. 2:7,13

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

In the Old Testament there are many scriptures that give reference to the importance of a persons reputation. Proverbs 22:1 says, "A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches and favor is better than silver or gold.

Healthy Fear vs. Unhealthy Fear Conclusion

GM Friends of God,

Moving forward friends....if there is still anyone with a sense of uneasiness or you are experiencing uncertainties about life and the future, the Lord offers encouragement  from His word. The Lord is mindful of us always, Friends. He says, "I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.'' (John 10:14).

He also says, "For I know the plans I have for you ; declares the Lord; plans to prosper you, and not to harm you, plans to give you  hope and a furture.

Friends, How Do You Approach The Throne of God?

GM Friends of God,

How do you/we approach the throne of God? Sometimes Friends, we rush into heaven's throne room with a list. Though God's word encourages us to "come boldly to the throne of our gracious God" in Hebrews 4:1, there are moments when I wonder if we are a little too bold especially when our minds are filled with the things here on earth.

Friends, I can only imagine what it looks like in heaven. Imagine the Father seated on the throne and ruling in glory, high and exalted.

His Counsel Never Fails

"Let all the earth fear the Lord : let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord ; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance."

He Is Shaping Us For The Next Big Thing In Our Lives

"I know the plans I have for you." saith the Lord. "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Hello Brothas and Sistas,
This week I was looking at Jeremiah in reference to how God knows the plans to prosper me and not to harm me and the plans He has to give me hope and a future. Think about what God is saying here, Brothas and Sistas. As I have stated before God will use our circumstances in life to grow us up, to shape us, and to discipline us.

Wounds of Divorce Personal Testimony and Encouragement - Conclusion

GM Friends of God,

"Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that  your youth is renewed like the eagle's." (Psalm 103:2-5).

Let's conclude with my testimony of encouragement for those of us that have gone through divorce.

Friends, my source of gaining strength was reading the bible and prayer.

Tea Time with Tabby

Good Morning Sistas, I missed you all last week and I pray that you each had an amazing time and fully drank from the Brew of Blessing from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Today I would like to focus on our choice in how we view our Tea Cups do we choose to see them overflowing with God's blessings or do we view them as half empty and a unfulfilled life.

Heart Change

"In this life you will have tribulations (trials), but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world." John 16:33

Good morning,

It is so true that so many times we are hit with trials from out of nowhere. This past weekend one of our family members was rushed to the hospital when he had been feeling just fine a few days before. We had made plans to do other things and trust me that pit stop to the ER and a hospitalization two days later was not on our agenda.

Healthy Fear vs. Unhealthy Fear Part III

Good Morning Friends of God,

Friends, we all need to learn to trust God implicitly for what we want to be and do. Proverbs 3:5, 6 says, ''Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths." You see Friends, trusting our own understanding without acknowledging God brings about fear, but when we trust Him, He makes our paths straight and there will be no fear In us.

High Places

"Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength, & he will make my feet like hinds' feet, & he will make me to walk upon mine high places. To the chief singer on my stringed instruments.

Allow Him to Open Your Eyes So That You May See

"Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water." Genesis 21:19

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,
Brothas and Sistas, it's amazing that even in the midst of our desolate, weary, worn and parched places God will allow us to not only see but partake in the water that only He can provide. Sometimes trials make it difficult to look past our pain and take hold of or visualize the blessings that He has right in front of us once we get past our pain.

He's Working It Out

"A white-tailed deer drinks from the creek; I want to drink God, deep draughts of God.
I’m thirsty for God-alive. I wonder, “Will I ever make it— arrive and drink in God’s presence?”I’m on a diet of tears— tears for breakfast, tears for supper. All day long people knock at my door, Pestering, “Where is this God of yours?” These are the things I go over and over, emptying out the pockets of my life. I was always at the head of the worshiping crowd, right out in front, Leading them all, eager to arrive and worship, Shouting praises, singing thanksgiving— celebrating, all of us, God’s feast!

The Wounds of Divorce Personal Testimony and Encouragement Part III

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." Proverbs 18:10

GM Friends of God,

Encouragement is greatly needed when so many are hurting from divorce. It is common to feel rejected or feel a sense of lost. Friends, that lost for me was like death. Yes, my husband was gone to the point of no return. And there was nothing I could have done to bring him back to me; not that I did not try. I did, but he wanted nothing to do with getting help from anyone!

Saying Goodbye Without the Reassurance of Heaven - Part II

Let's continue with "Saying Goodbye Without the Reassurance of Heaven"....

Now Sistas, I said that there were two brews that I was drinking from the Savior's Tea Cupboard; a brew of Hope for Salvation for before their last breath on this earth is upon them and the second is much closer in the circle of my life. This is a woman who I admire for the many gifts and talents that the Lord poured into her over her life span.

Yes, she used these this gifts and talents He gave her for over 50 yrs.

Genuine Love....Is it Really Possible???? Brothas and Sistas, Let's Talk........

"This is my commandment. That ye love one another, as I have loved you."
John 15:12

Is genuine love possible? Brothas and Sistas, let's talk................................

Dear Brothas and Sistas, this question was one that caused me to ponder the realization of why our Creator put us here on this earth, to glorify Him in how we show love to the unlovable. This morning it was as if God was sitting here explaining to me how to love the unlovable at times. There are times in my life when this is so easy to do, so natural and I praise God for those days and those situations.

Healthy Fear vs.Unhealthy Fear Part II

We were on vacation in SC for a family reunion last week. Hope you enjoyed our blast from the past devotional. Now that we're back let's continue with Renee's series on fear.

GM Friends of God,

Fear for the Christian is real. Friends, sometimes we may worry about inadequacy, failing or not measuring up. The truth is God's not asking any of us to be successful. That's something we choose to do and there is nothing wrong with that. God only asks that we please Him!

Rejoice In Him! He is God Alone!

Good morning Friends of God,

"BLESSED be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight: My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and He In whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me. LORD, what is man, that thou takest knowledge of him! Or the son of man, that thou makest account of him!" Psalm 144:1-3

Friends, we should be rejoicing in Gods' care regardless of what we go through, whether in times of prosperity or adversity because we are so blessed.

We Have Been Made Righteous!

"For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God's abundant provision of grace & of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!" Romans 5:17

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Brothas and Sistas, we have been so conditioned to focus on the sin of the first Adam that we fail to embrace redemption from sin, which is the embodiment of the message of salvation, grace and righteousness imputed unto us by the second Adam.

The Storms of Life

Douglas Miller - My Soul Is Anchored

Casting Crowns - Praise You In the Storm

"And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

The Wounds of Divorce - Personal Testimony and Encouragement Part II

Good morning Friends of God,

Let's continue with our series on divorce. My hope is that someone going through this will be encouraged.

Friends, in my situation it was difficult for me to cut through all the different feelings of alienation. I was angry. I had feelings of rejection, bitterness, and confusion. I must tell you this, even though I was hurting so bad on the inside, I had my mind made up that I would not fight the way the world fights. At first I was angry with God and I remember driving around late one night screaming out loud telling God how I had always prayed for my marriage and asking Him, "How could He let this happen?

Teatime With Tabby - Saying Goodbye Without the Reassurance of Heaven Part I

Good Morning Sistas,

I pray that your Tea Cups have been filled daily not with your own brew but that of the Lord our Savior, Jesus Christ. I also pray in this moment for any new Sistas that have joined us today that you will allow Christ's love, comfort, redemption, sanctification, and salvation to wash over you and create a new you in Him.

Today Sistas, I would like to talk about how we as believers are to share the gospel with others, as we should be doing all the time.

What Stands Between You and the Abundant Life?

"The Blessings of the Promised Land Therefore shall ye keep all the commandments which I command you this day, that ye may be strong, and go in and possess the land, whither ye go to possess it; And that ye may prolong your days in the land, which the Lord sware unto your fathers to give unto them and to their seed, a land that floweth with milk and honey. For the land, whither thou goest in to possess it, is not as the land of Egypt, from whence ye came out, where thou sowedst thy seed, and wateredst it with thy foot, as a garden of herbs: But the land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: A land which the Lord thy God careth for: the eyes of the Lord thy God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year.

Moments of Reflection - Believe God For The Impossible!

"For nothing shall be impossible with God." Luke 1:37

Good morning to all,
Sistas, we have gotta believe God for the impossible! No night is ever so dark that He can't shine His light into it. No valley is ever too deep that He can't lift us out of it. No prayer is ever too big that He can't answer it. Think and dream BIG! He is the God of possibility for every seemingly impossible situation.

Words To Live By - He Is All Of These Things And More

"Jesus is light, there is no darkness in Him, if we claim to have fellowship with Him, let us walk in the light. My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense. Jesus Christ, the righteous One." (1 John 2:1-2 )

Good morning Friends,
Friends, we should be forever grateful that when we sin, and sometimes we all do, we have a defense, or protection.

Sistas, What Is That You Have In Your Hand?

Good morning my tenacious and talented Kingdom Sistas,
I Kings 10:1-13
The Queen of the South will rise at the judgment with this generation and condemn it; for she came from the ends of the earth to listen to Solomon’s wisdom. Matthew 12:42b

"And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

He Is Faithful

"The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it." I Thessalonians 5:24

Good morning Brothas & Sistas,
I have a question for you. Why do we make excuses for progressing further in ministry. When we make excuses we simply limit what God can do with all we have and where we are.
A lot of us look at the fact that we are not qualified enough. Brothas and Sistas, don't you know that eventhough we might not be as skillful as what we think we may need to be, neither were some of the men and women that are in the bible?

The Wounds of Divorce - Personal Testimony & Encouragement Part I
Slow Jam

Good Morning Friends of God,

One of the most difficult times in my life was going through a divorce, I hated it! And still do! So I just wanted to encourage someone who may be going through this same thing.

Divorce is a shattering experience to all involved and it's wounds heal slowly. Friends, because of what I experienced I don't wish to see or hear about divorce for anyone. Even more so for Christian marriages.

Teatime with Tabby The Gates Part 3

Good morning Sistas,

It's my pleasure and joy to be back with you all once again this week. I praise the Lord, our God for awakening us one more day and giving me the opportunity to share with you. I pray that you have each been seeking His face in times of struggles and times of great joy. Lets grab our Tea Cups and see what He has for us today. What amazing brew of truth and hope He desires to pour into each of us.

Lord, I ask that the words that wind up on this page are not mine but rather Yours.

Healthy Fear vs. Unhealthy Fear

GM Friends of God,

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind." II Timothy 1:7

I will be sharing my testimony with you about how I struggled with fear.I remember all the times I lived in fear, whether it was of things I imagined or real circumstances. I had fear of living alone and what could happen, fear of change and not knowing what to expect, and many more fears. I'm so glad I'm free from ALL fear. I have been free for many years now; never to go back to those unhealthy fears.

Listen With The Intent To Understand

"I think I'll learn more from listening. Anything I would say I already know." — Anon.

"A servant will not be instructed by words alone; For though he understands, there will be no response." Prov. 29:19

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Not too long ago I had a conversation with a friend about how often the intent of our words can be misconstrued. Oftentimes we will speak words to the listener and we intend to say one thing but they will inadvertently hear another.

Faith and Works

Good morning Friends,
"What good is it, my brother, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him,. Go I wish you well; keep warm and fed,'' but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead."

Friends, we must put our faith to action with our deeds.

Don't Go Backwards, Go Forward In the Kingdom of God

"Therefore lets move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death and of faith in God." Hebrews 6:1

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Brothas and Sistas, there is nothing worse than peddling backwards ; in the end it gets you absolutely nowhere. After all how can we move forward in the things of God when we are constantly relying on what we see in our rear view mirror?

What Is Grace?

“Therefore, the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants. As he began the settlement, a man who owed him ten thousand bags of gold was brought to him. Since he was not able to pay, the master ordered that he and his wife and his children and all that he had be sold to repay the debt. “At this the servant fell on his knees before him. ‘Be patient with me,’ he begged, ‘and I will pay back everything.’ The servant’s master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go.

"How The Lord Lead Me To My Husband Part IV" - Turning Point

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Good morning Brothas and Sistas,

Here is the final part to my testimony of how the Lord  lead me to my husband. Let's pick up where we left off.

.................He continued to say, "I must confess I am also praying for a Christian wife.

Tea Time With Tabby - Gates, Grace, and God Part III

Good morning Sistas,

I pray that everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend and had a great time celebrating our freedoms. I just want to commit our time together this morning to our amazing Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray that His words hit the keys and do the typing. May you be blessed and challenged by today's continued message on how to grow closer to God and how to walk an authentic Christian life.

Last week we talked about the first Gate we entered through on our way to those Pearly White Gates.
